Non-traditional orientation is often a shock for parents. Due to their beliefs, parents cannot understand their child and most often try to convince the teenager that this is all nonsense. Such a reaction is characteristic of those who do not know how to react correctly to new information. However, for children, the negative reaction of parents may not be the most favorable memory. Due to the fact that the LGBT community is negatively perceived in Russia (of course, not by all citizens), the child does not know how to inform his parents that his orientation is non-traditional. The younger generation is much easier to perceive the information that there are people with non-traditional orientation in their environment. However, not many parents are ready to accept their child as he really is. Parents often try to convince the child that the craving for their gender is an abnormal phenomenon, after that they lose contact with their child. The process of communicating with other children. Children with non-traditional orientation are much less likely to communicate with children of their own sex. This happens as a result of a distorted perception of oneself, the child experiences embarrassment when communicating with those who, in theory, can be his object of sympathy.
