That tire sounds a little wide. If you have a 7" x 17"wheel the recommended tire is 215/45/17; If it is a 7'5" x 17" wheel then the recommended tire is 225/45/17. I guess if you have an 8" or wider wheel you would need a 235/45/17 tire. I would think that once you get to that wide of a tread there might be some rubbing at full turn. I just put a set of the Volvo Canisto wheels (7.5" x 17" x 43) on my 02 S60 and there is no rubbing. I have the 225/45/17 tire. The offset would have some impact on this also. A 225 tire with a 43mm offset wheel is right at the outer edge of the fender. A 235 is most likely going to stick out from the fender. It might start to look like a rice burner at that point.[8D] I'm sure you realize that the ride is going to be quite a bit firmer as you will be going from a 65 series tire to a 45 series tire. This is quite a bit of difference, Of course you will have much more tread on the ground so the handling should be better. I went up from a 205/55/16 and there was a noticible difference is both ride and handling.
